Description: Hagworm Hills, Irton Moor. Looking NW. Morainic mounds, Hagworm Hills, Irton Moor. These mounds mark the maximum extension inland of the coastal ice which overrode the site of Scarborough and blocked the seaward exit of the Vale of Pickering. In addition to local material, the gravel consists of Cheviot and Tweed rocks, together with a few Scandinavian rocks redistributed from the relics of earlier glaciation.
