Description: | High Stack, Flamborough. Looking E. Blow-hole, High Stacks, Flamborough. 'Blow-hole' opening of a cave in the Chalk. The roof of the cave has collapsed leaving an opening through which spray and waves dash upwards and then wash down the overlying boulder clay. As erosion proceeds, High Stacks will become a detached stack cut through at the base by the cave having a natural arch. See also A5441 and A5443. |
