View showing the wooded gap with Bridge Valley Road seen on the top right-hand side of the photograph. Above the line of the road is the well-known section exposing the Dolomitic Avon Gorge Series. Conglomerate (see No. A10687). On the left-hand side are cliffs of Clifton Down Limestone. The lower part of the slopes on the right-hand side of the picture consists of Hotwells Limestone but the contact of the Carboniferous and Triassic rocks is not exposed. |
