Description: Black Rock, Brighton. Looking NNE. Coombe Deposits overlying raised beach deposits. At intervals along the Sussex coast traces of a raised beach occur; that at Black Rock has yielded marine shells. Overlying it is a mass of solifluxion drift 'Coombe Deposits', formed during the Glacial Period. See 'Geology of the country near Brighton and Worthing' (Mem. Geol. Surv.), 1924, pp.73-76.
