Description: Roadside section, Bridge Valley Road, Clifton, Bristol. Looking SE. Conglomerate filling a Triassic valley, Clifton. Dolomitic Conglomerate filling a valley cut in Carboniferous Limestone. The coarse conglomerate is cut by strong south-south-east - north-north-west joints which cut boulders and matrix consists of red sandy and gritty mudstone and fine-grained conglomerate. In the upper part of the section the fragments are smaller and the conglomerate passes up into calcareous sandstone.
