Description: | Copt Point, Folkestone. Looking NW. Coast erosion of Gault overlying Lower Greensand. The Lower Greensand consists of interbedded rock and sand, and marine erosion leaves a vertical cliff. The homogeneous Gault is attacked in the lower part and is irregularly undermined; large masses slip into the sea, leaving funnel-shaped gaps. |
