Description: Denny Bottom, 1 m. W. of Tunbridge Wells. The Toad Rock, and earth pillar of Ardingly Sandstone, sandstone of the Lower Tunbridge Wells Sand. The sculpture of this form of pillar is apparently due to wind erosion acting just above the ground level. See 'Geology of the Weald' (Mem. Geol. Surv.), 1875, p.248.
