Description: | Middle Hope (W.) N. of Sand Bay, Weston-super-Mare. Looking NW. Woodspring volcanics, Middle Hope. The geologist is standing on a volcanic tuff band which overlies a rib of massive brown-stained grey limestone. The dip-slope of the upper surface of the limestone is best seen above the geologist's head. The limestone surface is highly fissured; the fissures are filled with tuffaceous material (see also photograph A11769). |
