Limestone (Black Rock Limestone, Carboniferous Limestone) rib intercalated in volcanic rocks, mainly tuffs. Brown-stained fissures with some tuffaceous infillings extend downwards from the overlying tuff band (seen to the right). A view of the upper surface of the limestone is given in photograph A11773. |
