View of north coast looking along raised beach feature (approx. 35 ft. above M.S.L.) and old cliff-line. The low cliffs of southward-dipping Black Rock Limestone (Carboniferous Limestone) underlie the bench-feature. The hollow, best seen on the skyline, is due to an intercalation of volcanic tuff and basaltic lava within the Carboniferous Limestone. The island of Flatholm (Carboniferous Limestone) is seen on the horizon. |
