Caption: Skelbrooke Church.
Description: Skelbrooke Church. Detail of the weathering of Magnesian Limestone. The stone is probably Park Nook Stone. Note the formation of a skin of the outside of the stone owing to the action of acid gases in the atmosphere. Later this skin falls away causing great decay to the stone. This is well shown in the photograph.
