Description: Cliff End. Looking NW. Cliffs in basal Wadhurst Clay and upper Ashdown Beds. The second in the series, covering the cliffs between TQ 8869 1279 and 8871 1290 overlapping slightly with the previous photograph A11374. A gentle flexure is visible to the right of the centre; the shales, siltstones and 'Tilgate Stone' at the Wadhurst Clay can be seen in the cliff tops above the 'Cliff End Sandstone'. Fallen slabs of the famous Cliff End Bone Bed, which yields teeth of early mammals, occur at this locality (see also photograph A11377).
