Description: Rock-a-Nore, Hastings. Looking ENE. Cliffs east of Hastings. These cliffs are cut in basal Wadhurst Clay strata and the top 60-70 metres of the Ashdown Beds. The basal Wadhurst Clay 'Cliff End Sandstone' forms a prominent ledge at the cliff top; below this about 50 metres of massive top Ashdown Beds sandstones showing eastward-facing 'foresets' occur. About 5 metres of silty clay of 'Fairlight Clay' facies are visible at the foot of the cliff. Ecclesbourne Glen is to the right of the centre.
