Description: Rock-a-Nore, Hastings. Looking N. Cliffs in top Ashdown Beds sandstones. This view of the old sea clifs below East Hill, shows excellent sections in the top Ashdown Beds sandstones, with flattish 'foresets' facing eastwards. The upper face of sandstone is the basal Wadhurst Clay 'Cliff End Sandstone'. Note the old screes stablized by vegetation at the foot of the cliffs. Occasional cliff-falls still occur from the free faces of well-jointed sandstone above.
