Description: Brede Bridge, from point about 200 m. SE of Brede Bridge. Looking NNW. View of Brede Village and alluvium of River Brede. Brede is situated on a hill rising to 60 m. above sea level, composed of upper Ashdown Beds with a thin capping of basal Wadhurst Clay, including a development of hard 'Tilgate' Stone. The River Brede is embanked across its alluvium in this part of the flood plain. In historical times the valley was a tidal inlet well above this point. See also Photo Nos. A11265 and A11266.
