Description: Fuller's Earth Union, the Cockley Pit, Nutfield, 3/4 m. E. of Redhill Station. Looking W. Folkestone Beds and Sandgate Beds. A general view of the Fuller's Earth pit in Nos. A4610 and A4611 showing the method of removing the overburden. The main Fuller's Earth seam is the dark layer at the bottom of the pit-face. The surface of the ground forms the dip-slope of the Lower Greensand beds and the hills in the distance, the Chalk escarpment of the North Downs, the high hill being Reigate Hill.
