Description: Buxton Quarry, Hind Low, near Buxton. Looking SSW. A c. 40 m. high quarry face showing darker thinner-bedded Monsal Dale Limestones (D2 zone) at the top overlying pale thickly-bedded Bee Low Limestones (Millers Dale Beds). The quarry floor at this point is at the horizon of a rotten basaltic lava lens recently revealed by quarrying off the picture to the left and covered with limestone debris. A clay and shale 'pocket deposit' is just off the picture to the right.
