Caption: Zawn A Bal. Looking SE.
Description: Zawn A Bal. Looking SE. An early fault in hornfelsed rocks. An early fault cutting across the foliation has brought basic hornfels into contact with hornfelsed cordierite-slate. A new foliation has been produced at the junction, parallel to the steeply-dipping fault plane, but recrystallization appears to have welded the fracture, suggesting that it predated the Land's End granite.
