Description: Sand-pit, just S. of Buildwas Station. Looking ESE. Late glacial sands near the entrance to Ironbridge Gorge. The high ground in distance on the left is Lincoln Hill (Wenlock Limestone). The main wooded feature is Benthall Edge (Wenlock Limestone on Wenlock Shale). The sands rest on Wenlock Shale and occupy the ground between the foot of Benthall Edge and the River Severn.
