Description: From E. side of Gavel Fell, Loweswater. Looking ENE. Skiddaw Slate scenery: Little Dodd, Mellbreak and Grasmoor (Blake Fell Mudstones) with Whiteside and Dodd (Kirkstile Slates and Loweswater Flags). Little Dodd (left, with light-coloured screes), Mellbreak (centre) and Grasmoor (summit of skyline) are made of hard mudstones at northern edge of core of Skiddaw Slate anticline. Whiteside and Dodd lie left of Gasgale Gill (Kirkstile Slates, see A4053).
