Description: Farnham Gravel Co.'s pit, 1/2 m. S. by W. of Farnham Church. Facing SW. False-bedded sand of the Folkestone Beds. A close view of the west face of the pit shown in A3763. The false-bedding of the Folkestone Beds is marked by dark seams of sand composed largely of polished grains of limonitic grit and ooliths of limonite. Some small pebbles of limonite up to about ? in. diameter are scattered through the sand. Some current-bedded sand is exposed near the top of the section. The overburden consists of made ground.
