The escarpment consists of a thick series of (Cwmclwyd) ashes (Caradocian), overlying poorly-cleaved shales and sandstones of the Mynydd-Tarw Group (Llandeilian). The wooded eminence on the left skyline is the intrusive keratophyre of Graig-wen (Shropshire). |
