Description: Viewpoint, near Pistyll-Rhaiadr, about 4 m. NW of Llanrhaiadr. Looking NW. Valley, looking towards Pistyll-Rhaiadr. On the extreme left is an old lead and zinc mine, 'Craig-y-mwn'. The crags in left-centre and centre are felspathic trap of Llandeilo age (74 SW). Pistyll-Rhaiadr in right centre, where the Afon-Dysgynfa falls from a hanging valley over a ledge of felspathic trap. A typical glaciated U-shaped valley. Special reports on mineral resources, vol.xxiii, pp.45-6. Nearer view of the fall. Old mine for slates, near its foot, on the left.
