Description: Eastern side of West Bay. Looking E. Cliff of Bridport Sand. The horizontal-bedding produces a vertical cliff with projecting cornices formed by the more resistant bands of calcareous sandstone. An uneven distribution of the calcareous cement in the latter may account for the etching effect. The festooning in the lower part of the section is clearly a contemporaneous product and appears to be associated with temporary small estuarine channels.
