Caption: Lulworth Cove, West Lulworth. Looking WSW.
Description: Lulworth Cove, West Lulworth. Looking WSW. Lulworth Cove has been formed by the widening of a bay by marine action and landslipping in soft Upper Purbeck, Wealden, Greensand and the Gault strata behind more resistant headlands of Portland Stone. The initial breach was probably produced by the stream following the valley (left centre) during a low-sea-level-period of the Pleistocene. The low ground (car park to right centre) follows the strike of the soft Wealden beds. (Repeat of A1319)
