Description: Near Kirkby Fell, Malham. Bowland Shales overlapping Hawes Limestone. A sink-hole exposing Upper Bowland Shales (Pendleian) unconformably overlying Hawes Limestone (early Brigantian). This exposure is 110 m. north of the Middle Craven Fault, and is an example of basinal facies (Bowland Shales) overlapping onto the Askrigg Block.
