Caption: Great Scar, near Settle.
Description: Great Scar, near Settle. Hardraw Scar Limestone. The Hardraw Scar Limestone (early Brigantian) forms the crags bordering a small south-south-west trending dry valley. The lithologies are coarse crinoidal calcarenites (packstones) and it contains numerous silicified brachiopods. The floor of the valley has a boulder clay fill through which shake holes have developed.
