Caption: Great Scar, near Settle.
Description: Great Scar, near Settle. Early Brigantian strata. Exposures on one side of a small graben, showing thinly-bedded crinoidal Hawes and Gayle Limestone in the lower and middle part of outcrop (which is notably argillaceous where the figure stands), overlain by Hardraw Scar Limestone (upper part of outcrop). The slight slack beneath this latter limestone is produced by a 2 m. thick mudstone.
