Caption: Great Scar, near Settle.
Description: Great Scar, near Settle. Early Brigantian strata. A small south-south-west trending dry valley with early Brigantian strata exposed. Hardraw Scar Limestone forms the well-exposed cliff on the side of the valley; below this are outcrops of the Gayle and Hawes Limestone. The skyline is produced by Pendleian strata, which are here separated from the Dinantian rocks by the Middle Craven Fault.
