Description: | Norber. Looking ENE. Lower Palaeozoic erratic blocks of Carboniferous Limestone. The large blocks of Austwick Formation arkosic sandstone and laminated siltstone stand on pedestals of Carboniferous Limestone. The erratics were plucked from outcrops on the west side of Crummackdale, c. 1 km. to the north. The pedestals reflect reduced rates of limestone solution beneath the erratics. The sub-Carboniferous unconformity is seen below the limestone scars of Moughton in the background. |
