Description: Norber. Looking NE. Lower Palaeozoic erratic blocks on Carboniferous Limestone. The large blocks of Austwick Formation arkosic sandstone and laminated siltstone stand on pedestals of Carboniferous Limestone. The erratics were plucked from outcrops on the west side of Crummackdale c. 1 km. to the north. The pedestals reflect reduced rates of limestone solution beneath the erratics. The sub-Carboniferous unconformity is seen on Studrigg Scars (SD 781 709) in the centre, background.
