Description: | Horse House and Carle Fell, Coverdale. Looking SE. The lower slopes of Coverdale are largely boulder clay covered. The beds of Yoredale facies are little seen in this view for that reason, but the overlying Namurian sandstones and mudstones form good features in the upper slopes. The resistant Red Scar Grit (E2) forms a strong feature on the upper slopes of Carle Fell which is capped by Lower Follifoot Grit (H1). |
