Description: Penhill Crags. A thick sandstone member in the Nidderdale Shales (E2) is tending to pass to the left into alternating sandstones and mudstones. The capping of Penhill is in Red Scar Grit. The debris in the foreground is part of a huge landslipped mass on which the photographer is standing. The backward slope of the slip into Penhill is well seen.
