Description: | Old quarry on Ever Bank, Middleham. Looking N. Blocky, streaky-textured cherts of the Richmond Chert Series. Beds of chert within the sequence have a cross-cutting relationship with each other. The honeycomb weathering caused by variation in silica content is well seen in the upper part of the cliff. The 'Pipe Bed' marking the top of the Little Limestone consists of cherty tubes descending into limestone. These are visible to the right of the apex of the grassy knoll with map case. |
