Description: | NW slopes of Penhill. Looking NE. Stepped topography on Yoredale facies sediments. Middle Limestone (possibly incorporating Five Yard Limestone) forms the green pastures in the foreground. The first main feature with brown vegetation is in the Three Yard Limestone which overlies sandstone. Behind it (centre and right) is a rocky feature on the thick sandstone in the Three Yard Cyclothem overlain by Underset Limestone. This latter limestone thickens northwards to Low Dove Scar (skyline, left). Dove Scar (skyline, centre, right) is in the Main Limestone. |
