Caption: Belcroute Bay, St. Brelade, Jersey. Looking SW.
Description: Sediments of the 8 m. raised beach between two periglacial deposits. The section shows, at the base, 1 m. of angular head composed of greywacke fragments and with poorly developed inclined bedding. This head is succeeded unconformably by 0.75 m. of well-rounded beach cobbles of granite with a few flints and larger sub-angular boulders of greywacke. The beach gravel is succeeded by 2 m. of bedded, coarse, ferruginous sand, probably of aeolian origin, which becomes stony upwards and grades into structureless sandy head of which a maximum of 3 m. is visible.
