Caption: South Hill, St. Helier, Jersey. Looking W.
Description: Deposits of the 30 m. raised beach. The deposits consist of rounded and sub-rounded pebbles and cobbles of granite resting on a worn surface of granite. The beach becomes more sandy upwards and is capped by angular debris, perhaps of periglacial origin. The beach lies between 34 and 37 m. above mean sea level and is 3 m. thick at this point.
