| Description: | Gravels of the 8 m. raised beach within modern tidal limits. The photograph shows a well-jointed block of granodiorite cemented into the gravel of the 8 m. raised beach at a height of 4 m. above mean sea level. The beach gravel is loosely cemented by iron and consists largely of granodiorite pebbles, but a few flints and a dolerite pebble are visible in the left centre of the photograph. Many of the pebbles in the gravel are lightly weathered. |
