Description: Rowling End, looking E. to Derwent Water and Keswick. Newlands Valley, Derwent Water and Keswick. This view show the broad glaciated valleys in the vicinity of Keswick. The agricultural ground of the Newlands Valley in front of the lake and around Keswick behind the lake is mantled by till (boulder clay). The foreground, middle ground to the right and distant ground on the left is all Skiddaw Group. The craggy ground beyond Derwent Water is Borrowdale Volcanic Group with the basal unconformity in the wooded area at the foot of the escarpment.
