Description: | Oblique aerial view of the plateau south-east of Glen Callater, Angus. Typical upland scenery in south-east Grampian Highlands. A view north-westwards from above Crow Craigies near the head of Glen Doll. The plateau, which has an extensive cover of wasting peat rises from around 900 m. in the foreground to over 1000 m. on Carn an t-Sagairt Mor in the right middle distance. In the middle distance the glacial trough housing Loch Callater has been excavated along the western margin of the Lochnagar Granite. The photograph provides an almost complete east-west panorama of the Cairngorms from Ben Avon on the right with its characteristic tors to the high-level corries of Braeriach and Cairn Toul. |
