Description: St. Abb's Head, White Heugh, Berwickshire. A geological fault between Silurian greywackes and Lower Old Red Sandstone and the massive lavas forming the headland. A view to the north-north-east. Well-bedded Silurian greywackes occur on the foreshore and on the cliff in left foreground. They are overlain unconformably by conglomerate and sandstone of Lower Old Red Sandstone in the upper part of that cliff and at sea-level to right. The white cliff is composed of massive lava. The gully below the castellated buttress marks the position of the boundary fault of these Lower Old Red Sandstone lavas.
