Description: | Oblique aerial view at Crianlarich, Central Region. Hummocky moraine in the foreground and Dalradian schist country. Typical terrain of the Dalradian (Precambrian and early Cambrian) schists. The River Fillan flows past the town of Crianlarich and into Loch Iubhair, at the foot of Ben More, 1174 m. It meanders on low alluvial terraces. Hummocky moraine is commonly found throughout upland Scotland and is thought to be the result of deposition at the margins of retreating glaciers at the end of the last ice age. |
