Description: Stuc a' Chroin, Loch Earn district, looking north-north-west with Lochan a' Chroin, Central Region. Dalradian schists and grits. The rocks in this area belong to the Southern Highlands Complex, a region of Dalradian rocks of metasedimentary origin. Structurally, on a regional scale they are part of a huge complex recumbent fold called the Tay Nappe. The region has undergone many phases of deformation. Typical hummocky moraine can be seen in the Gleann Dubh Choirein in the foreground.
