Description: Eastern shore of River Spey at Ordiequish 2.6 km. south-west of Fochabers, Moray. Earth pillars. Earth pillars cut in deeply weathered Middle Old Red Sandstone conglomerate. Produced by rain erosion, they form on slopes of valleys often in impermeable material that contains resistant boulders as in this conglomerate. Note also the active erosion in the river cliff.
