| Description: | Man o' War Cove illustrates how when the sea having pierced the Portland Stone barrier (as is seen at its commencement at Stair Cove) soon hollows out the Purbeck and Wealden beds behind. In this case the softer beds have entirely gone, the sea now having reached the Chalk which has for the time checked it. |
