| Caption: | Bardon Hill quarries. The main mass of the rock was considered by Prof. Watts as belonging to the coarse Beacon Agglomerates, but it is possible that igneous flows have formed part of the main mass. Excursion to Charnwood Forest, September 8th 1910. |
| Description: | On the north side the Peldar Porphyroid is intrusive and on the south sides the Beacon rocks and the Slate Agglomerates are found. The upper beds capping the igneous rocks are Triassic. Added note: South corner [on right hand side of photograph]. |
