Caption: Rock Pit, Elmstead. Excursion to Bickley and Chiselhurst, July 11th 1914.
Description: The Blackheath Beds here consist of about 80 feet of sand and pebbles of which 20 feet are exposed in the pit. Fossils are numerous, many species having been recorded. The shells are easily extracted but very fragile.
