| Description: | The remains of hedges still traversed these fragments and a stile was seen undisturbed on the summit of one of the subsided columnar masses. The eye looking from above on this wild scene of ruin saw it finely backed by the deep blue of the channel beneath for in this case the landslip in question formed the first term in the commencement of a new and incipient undercliff which fresh falls and the lapse of centuries will be required to bring into the state of that between Lyme and Seaton. |
