Caption: Pentire Head. North Cornwall, April 13th 1914.
Description: A Spilite lava flow. This is composed of pillows or sack shaped masses of a round or oval form averaging about 3 feet in diameter. As they were not very fluid the above triangular spaces were left between them which afterwards became filled with chert and crystalline calcite.
