Caption: Opthalmosaurus monocharactus (ichthyosaur) partial skeleton from the Oxford Clay Formation of the Peterborough brickpits on display in the geology gallery of Peterborough Museum.
Description: Compressed partial fossil skeleton (rear missing) of Opthalmosaurus monocharactus (ichthyosaur) from the Peterborough Member, Oxford Clay Formation. Found and excavated at Fletton brick pit, near Peterborough by Mr P J Phillips in 1921 and/or 1924, and purchased by the Museum in 1925. It is on display in the Museum's Jurassic gallery since 2012 (Museum numbers R15, R93, R217, R230). Information from Peterborough Museum records.
